Airplane Park and an Injured Tooth

The girls and I were trying to live it up on our last few days of summer, so one Wednesday we had a playdate scheduled and the other family had to cancel (because of sickness) at the last minute.  I decided we'd go back to Airplane park and play there for the morning.  We had such a fun time!  They all four rode their bikes/scooter for a loooong time and then started playing on the play ground.  Not long before we were going to leave I took this picture of them.

Literally right after I took it Emily wanted to show me something so I was turned around watching her and Abby was only feet away from me and on a flat part not going very fast, but apparently still managed to take a bad fall off her scooter.  I ran to her and there was blood everywhere. I ran to clean her up in the bathroom and realized she had cut her lip pretty bad, but I wasn't worried about it at all.  We've busted plenty of lips around here.

We left the park because my Abby was still hurting and crying a little.  After we got home we ate lunch and I laid Abby down for a nap, but after she woke up I noticed (for the first time) to teeth looked different.  One of her front teeth was longer than the other and three of her teeth were SERIOUSLY loose!!  Ugh!  I called the dentist and took their next available appointment, which was the next morning.

At that appointment we found out that when she fell she severed the roots between that front tooth and her gum AND she broke the bone.  The dentist felt sure that the bone would heal, but she wasn't sure that the roots would.  She said we just have to wait and see.

Soooo....that's what we've been doing!  We go back in a week for another X-ray and check up.  We're praying that that tooth will reattach and she won't loose it!!  We've tried to be extra careful these last 2-1/2 weeks to make sure she's not doing anything too wild that might get her mouth hurt again.  We went to a birthday party with a bounce house and mean old mom wouldn't let her jump because the dentist said "no jumping!!"  I've had to cut up everything she eats (even bananas) into tiny bites so that she doesn't bite into anything.  I'm thankful her gums haven't gotten infected and the tooth never really turned gray, so surely those are good signs.  We'll see!!

August Lake Trip

We took one last lake trip about a week before school started back and we enjoyed it thoroughly!  The Burns family came with us on Thursday night and spent the night with us at the cabin and then enjoyed playing on the lake all day on Friday!  We SO loved having them there with us!!

Hudson loved jumping of the top of the dock!

I thought this was a cute picture of Abby..

We really enjoyed playing on Brett's paddle board!  There were almost no boats out on Friday so it was a perfect time to paddle all over.  We even went all the way across the lake (to the SC side) several times!

The kids played on it for hours!

It was so peaceful and calm!

Claire!

Emily!

During nap time/rest time mom kept all 7 kids at the house while we (Rhett, Shannon, Bert and I) went on a long jet ski ride to see the waterfall!  This is the view when you are getting close to the waterfall!  Isn't it beautiful?!

We really enjoyed our little double date and they even talked me into swimming all the way up to the bottom of the falls, which is definitely not something I've done before.  That water was cold, but the swim over to the falls was totally worth it!

Dinner time!

Sweet things putting a puzzle together and doing it together!

Jacob had a lake birthday party on Saturday from 10-12!  The girls loved getting to be there to celebrate their cousin turning 7!

That afternoon Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Kathy took us on a long pontoon ride which we all loved!!

Shannon took this picture from the top of the dock on Thursday night not long after we had gotten there!  I thought it was so beautiful!  The top of the dock used to be my FAVORITE spot to go to have my quiet times and spend time with God/studying the Bible.  It was also where Bert proposed to me!  So many wonderful memories there and I feel like Shannon captured the view so well!

We headed back to Greenville around dinner time on Saturday, but left very thankful for another wonderful weekend on Lake Hartwell!

Fun Dinners, Waterpark Day, and an Amusment Park

We spent a day at the waterpark and had a blast as usual.  I didn't take one picture until we were literally walking out of the park at closing time.

I stole these next two pictures from Mimi's phone, but she didn't get many pictures either.  We were too busy having fun!

One night we went to an amusement park type place to let the kids ride some rides.

Abby was mad (furious) right before it started because she wanted "it to go" but literally the second it started she started smiling! Ha!

Sweet Hannah!

Uncle Stan stood beside Claire and look at Em in the background with her hands up while it was going! Crazy child!

The kids love riding race cars on the big track.  Emily rode with Papa Stan!

Bert and Claire were partners!

Race car driving isn't my favorite activity and I'm happy to watch and cheer but I got called into duty because we had more kids than adult drivers.  Katherine's back won't let her ride and Brett didn't get to go on the trip with us this year.

Ress Bess and I had fun though!

Mimi and Hannah Beth!

Emily, Hannah and Jacob planned to drive their own race cars on a different track except Jacob didn't end up getting to drive it because they said he was too tall for that track.  Poor kid!  He ended up riding the roller coaster instead and had fun!

These two kids did an awesome job driving!!

We ate in at the condo 3 or 4 nights and ate out the others.  This picture was taken on our last night night in PCB and was our low country boil night.  Always a favorite for sure!!

We tried out a new restaurant that I can't remember the name of, but we all enjoyed it.  We had to split up and Mimi and Papa took the little three at their table and the rest of the adults had the big three kids.  Win for us!  :)

Mimi & Papa and the little three!!

Love Abby's smile!

Our "big eat out night" is usually to Captain Anderson's because the food its so great.  We had about an hour and a half wait even though we got there before 6, but it was for sure worth the wait!

Love this picture of my dad!! We took this one when we were just testing out the sunlight before our big family picture. Love him so much!

I loved this picture that we got of all 6 of them while we were waiting for dinner!

Team Watts!

We had such a wonderful fun trip and I'm so thankful for the gift of family!  My favorite memories of my growing up years were of our family vacations and I pray the same thing would be true for my girls!!!
