Painting, painting, removing wallpaper and more Painting.

We started working on the house the day we closed.  My parents are going to be ready for a vacation when we're all settled in or new place.  They have been a HUGE help.  One night last week they didn't get back to Toccoa until 1 am and another night they didn't get back until 1:30.  Yikes!  Mama kept the girls for me so that I could work on the house too!  I've enjoyed being able to help and the girls enjoyed their Mimi time!

Jeff and Linda had planned to come up and join in the painting fun, but because of Bert's grandfather being sick they're trying to spend as much time as they can in FL.  Please keep them in your prayers.

Brett, Katherine and Jacob were going to Toccoa last weekend.  They decided to come a day early and help us with some painting.  Bert and Brett painted from about 4 -11 (with a dinner break) on Thursday night and then Brett went back over to the house on Friday morning to paint some more while Bert was at work.  We SO appreciated their help and we REALLY enjoyed their company!!

Jacob was learning to walk right before our very eyes that weekend.  He was already taking several steps before they got here, but by the time they left he was taking even more.  We think he was trying to keep up with Emily.:)  He loved to walk up to Hannah's exersaucer and play with her!

Homeowners

We closed on our new house on July 24th! We're SO thankful and excited to move in! It's going to be a few more weeks before we move in as we're still finishing painting the entire house except one room. We had the carpet replaced already and we've already taken down wallpaper in five rooms! Come on over sometime and we'll put you to work! :)

Our first night after we closed we bought a Little Cezars pizza and enjoyed just being in our new house together.  The girls were excited!:)

We're thankful for all of the many blessings He has given us, and we're praying that this home would be used for His glory!

Meeting Millie and Billie

We found out Bert's Pawpaw has pancreatic cancer, so as soon as we could we hit the road for FL to go visit Mamaw and Pawpaw for a few days.  We were VERY thankful to be able to go and spend that time with them.  We love them SO much!

On our way down to FL we spent the night in Jackson with Bert's parents.  We were able to see our twin nieces, Millie and Billie, who were not even a week old at the time!  We were excited to get to hold those sweet girls!!  They are absolutely beautiful!  They both weighed 5 lbs 9 oz and were 17 inches long!!  Yes, you read that right....they had the exact same measurements!  Crazy!

Michael (Bert's brother) and Sarah are doing such a great job!!  I'm SOOO impressed that they're able to function with as little sleep as they're getting.  I remember the first few weeks very well...they're good, but hard.

This is Linda with 5 of her grandbabies.  Doesn't she look happy??

All of these kiddos are very blessed to have such a loving, kind, talented, and generous grandmama!!

Mother Tot

We decided to let Emily take her first swimming lessons while she was hanging out with Mimi and Papa Stan and the rest of us were on the mission trip!  She L.O.V.E.D. them (no surprise there)!!  She was in a "Mother Tot" class where someone has to be in the water with the kid.  Most of the kids in her class were about her age.  Mimi got in the water with her for the first two days.  After I got to Toccoa on Wednesday I got in the water with her each afternoon.  It was so much fun to see all that she was learning.  We took lots of pictures and video for her Daddy to see.  He was really proud of her!

She learned how to blow bubbles, put her face in the water, jump, stay on the side when asked to, "walk the wall" to get to the ladder, float, and many more things that I can't think of right now.  I think it was good for her and she definitely had fun!!

Papa Stan stopped by the pool one day to hold Hannah and see Emily in action.

They had Emily "reeeeaching" to get these "treasures."  Oh she got them alright and didn't want to do anything else except play with her treasures.:)

After swimming lessons were over you were supposed to get out of the pool, but they were pretty laid back and let me stay in a little longer so that Hannah could have some pool time too.  She enjoyed it for sure!

Sweet summertime!!

T-Town & Painting Toes

Here are a few pictures from our time in Toccoa...

Hannah sucks her thumb to go to sleep.  She doesn't it usually suck it during the day unless she's tired.  I tried hard to discourage the thumb sucking, but she won.  I have to admit she's pretty cute!

Emily found this bear and named it "Shampoo!"  I guess she heard one of us tell her it was Pooh and she thought we meant "shampoo."  Anyway, Emily and Shampoo are good friends these days!:)

My cuties reading with their Mimi!

Mimi was playing on the floor with Hannah and Emily wanted in on the action!

One night I decided it would be fun to paint Emily's toes.  She was sooo excited.  She stayed perfectly still for the first foot, but got a little restless for the second.

They're not perfect, but she's proud.

Good times with my girls!

Love my girl...

We had such a great few days in Kannapolis...very thankful I was able to go, but it was SO good to see my Emma Lou!  I missed her.:)
