We had such a fun, fun time at Vogel State Park this year with the Watts side of our family! We SO enjoyed getting to spend quality time with Grandmama & Pawpaw and Alison and her family!
We had a campfire every night and Emily got pretty good at making a smore. Hannah and Claire preferred for someone to make it for them and sweet Jude usually volunteered to make it for them even before he made his own.
After we put the kids to bed each night the grownups would just sit outside and talk for hours....probably my favorite part!
The kids played lots of games around this table. "Spot it" was a favorite!
Playing in the creek is always a highlight for the kids each year. We spend many hours in the creek. We saw a couple snakes in there which made me a little nervous but Bert and Alison are professional creek-players, so we were all safe.
Bert helped each kid walk across this log and they were proud!
I loved this picture that Alison got of Molly holding Emily's hand, Jude holding Hannah's and Rosemary holding Claire's as they tromped though the creek. So sweet!
Team Watts on the hike!
I think my favorite part of the trip was getting to know Molly and Jude. They are precious children and gifts to our family. We're so thankful they are here!
Grandmama did some rock painting with the kids and they were soooo proud of their rocks!
Jude was helping Abby...
We also enjoyed playing in the sand and lake that is in Vogel State Park. We spent such a relaxing afternoon there! So fun!
Abby found a worm and wasn't afraid to hold it at all!
We went tubing in Helen again this year and this year Linda wanted me to go and said she would stay back with Abby! I so appreciated being able to go. We think next year Abby will be ready!
We stopped at one of the overlooks on our way to the river for tubing. So beautiful!
The tubers!
I hadn't been tubing in years and had forgotten how much I loved it! It was so relaxing and peaceful! Each of the kids were hooked to an adult's tube. Hannah and I were hooked together and had a great time!!
Of course, we had to play on the playground some too! Abby would have let Jude push her in the swing all day.
Sweet 1st graders swinging together!
The grandkids with their Grandmama and Pawpaw!
We had to leave Vogel on Wednesday morning so that Bert could get back to work and everyone else wasn't leaving until Friday morning. We ended up letting Emily stay those last two days and she had so much fun and felt like such a big girl!
Linda sent me this picture after we were back in Greenville. Sweet kids!
They always like to hide those rocks!
Watts family picture...3 out of 4 were looking!
The whole group!
We had such a great time with the Watts family this year at Vogel! We loved being piled into the cabin all together, the late night campfires, walks through the creek and sweet, sweet family time! We're already looking forward to next year!
