Emily's Awards Day and Last Day of School

Emily had an AMAZING year in 1st grade!  She loved her teacher, classmates and was excited about going to school every day.  She's learned so much this year and we're super proud of her hard work!

They started out the awards program with a play that the class read to the parents to show off their reading skills and use of expression.  Emily was the narrator.  It was cute!!

Emily was one of a couple students to get the art award for her class.  This was given by the art teacher at Paris for her hard work and creativity in art class each week.  She loves all things art and draws and creates things all the time at home. Great job, Emily!

The award we were most proud of was the citizenship award.  One boy and one girl from each class receives this award and Emily was the girl recipient for her class.  Her classmates voted on it this year.  We pray that our girls love others well and we pray that we would model that well for them. Emily was especially excited about the trophy and she immediately put it on her shelf when we got home.

Abby got to tag along with us, which Em was excited about!

Emily and a few of her friends from school!

Of all of her friends this year we probably heard the most about Avery.  They were big buddies!

Emily and Mrs. Poe!  She's such a fun, energetic teacher who makes learning fun for the kids and loves them well!

Emily on the morning of the last day of school.   A little sad, a little happy, but ready to go!

Bert took Emily to Bojangles for breakfast on the morning of her last day.  One on one time is always great!

We're proud of you, Emily Jean Watts!  I'm already praying for your second grade teacher and year!
