Bert and I surprised the girls with a short beach trip in mid-May! We haven't ever taken a trip like this with just our family and we were so excited to get to spend time together relaxing and playing for a couple days!
We checked the girls out of school at lunch on Wednesday and they had no idea why. I had packed everyone's bags in secret the day before and emailed their teachers to let them in on the surprise.
We didn't end up telling the girls where we were going until we were halfway to Panama City Beach. They were soooo excited! It's a video that I'll cherish for sure!
We took walks around the golf course both mornings and loved watching the kids run together.
Abby was leading the pack.
We spent time both mornings at the pool, beach and splash pad. Emily said she loved the beach the best and Claire and Hannah voted for the pool.
Snack Time!
It was fun to see Emily have so much fun! The beach was especially beautiful on Thursday morning. Not to hot or cold. Friday morning it was beautiful too but there was a red flag so we didn't get in past our knees, but we still had fun playing in the sand!
I think if Abby could have voted for her favorite activity she would have voted for the beach. She would run straight for the water without looking back. I can't tell you how many times I had to chase after this fearless girl.
These two preferred the sand to the ocean and they had so much fun building things together!
Nap time for the little two meant rest time for the big two and Emily made a spot under the table for herself.
They loved getting to ride the golf cart back and forth between our condo and the beach side. There are so fewer people in May than in July....it was great!
I loved this picture of Claire!
I painted lots of nails...
The Dodge family from our church got to PCB the day before we left. We got to swim with them that night and the kids had fun together!
We went out to dinner both nights (since we were only there two nights). This was our view for dinner on Thursday night.
This nugget was fussy while we were waiting on our food so her Daddy took her on a walk.
I'm so thankful for these 5 people!
We had such a great trip! It was fun and relaxing and just what we needed!!
