Bert started his new position at our church on Monday, November 28th, so he took a few days off at the beginning of the week before Thanksgiving so that our family could rest and relax together. We went to the lake house and had such a great time. It is so good from time to time to disconnect and not be able to check Facebook or make phone calls or send text messages.
Emily asked to do an experiment with oil and water. Little scientist.
We love this happy girl!
Every day we went on a walk and took a couple laps around the neighborhood after Abby's morning nap.
Bert took the big girls down to have a snack on the dock one afternoon, while I stayed in the cabin with Abby Doodle.
Bert and I took turns going down to the dock each afternoon and having our quiet time there. It was peaceful and much needed to be able to spend time in prayer and the Word. This was my view.
We made homemade pizzas one night and the girls loved it!
They had opinions about which toppings they wanted and which they didn't. Bert accidentally mixed up the pieces of pizza when he was handing them to each kid, but he was quickly corrected.
This little nugget started standing up without holding on to anything while we were there. She had done it before but while we were down there she started doing it a lot. I loved this picture of her with her hands clasped.
In the picture below the girls were pretending the chair cushion is a boat. Their hair is not fixed and half of them are still in pajamas, but this picture makes me happy and I think I might just want to frame it.
Thankful for our time to rest and relax and also thankful for a place to do it together as a family!
