Three's Company!

Labor Day 2012 was a great day!!  It was the day Bert and I got the biggest and best surprise ever!!  We had just moved into our new house just 2 days before.  We were surrounded by boxes, boxes and more   boxes.  The entire week before we moved I really hadn't been feeling great.  I couldn't tell you exactly what was wrong, but I wasn't feeling 100%.  After discussing how I felt with Bert and my mom, we decided that I was probably just anxious about the upcoming move (even though I didn't feel anxious, I totally convinced myself this was it.:))  Well the move had come and gone and I still wasn't feeling great.  I decided to pick up a pregnancy test when I went to the store to buy groceries for the week.  Bert had gone outside to cut grass, but as soon as I took the test I ran to find him.  I'm sure my mouth was still hanging wide open.:)  I found him in the garage and told him "Bert, I'm pregnant!" When I told him he had the biggest grin spread across his face.  I'm sure he was as surprised as I was, but he could do nothing but smile.  He's such a good daddy!!

We may have been surprised, but we couldn't be more excited about this sweet little life growing inside of me!!  We can hardly wait to find out if this sweet baby is a girl or a boy!  We can hardly wait to name this sweet child!! We can hardly wait to find out who this baby will look like!  We can hardly wait to hold this baby close and tell him/her how much we love them!  And we do love him/her so so much!!  We can't wait to welcome this sweet baby into our family!!

I'm so excited that our kids will be so close in age!  I pray that they will be close not just in age, but also in their relationship with one another.  I pray that they will be the best of friends!!

I went to the doctor a couple weeks ago and found out that the baby is due April 24th.  I'm 10 weeks along today.....almost finished with the first trimester....woohoo!!  The baby and I both had a great check-up!  I got to hear the baby's heart beating when he/she was only 8 weeks along.  It brought tears to my eyes.  The sound of one of my children's heart beating, while this little baby is still inside of me, is one of the sweetest, most precious sounds I've ever heard.  I can't hear it and not be in awe of God!

Emily will turn three just two weeks before the baby is born.  Hannah will be 14 months. Our hands will surely be full with three small children, but they will be full of good things!!  The Lord has blessed us with more than we could imagine.  We are so thankful for all three of our sweet children!!

Date Night

On Wednesday night of our vacation Mimi and Papa kept the girls for us so Bert and I could go out on a date night!  We went on the Lady Anderson dinner cruise!  We had such a great time!!

Before our date night.

At our table just chatting before the boat left.

There was a great band and we enjoyed a little dancing, but mostly we just enjoyed a quiet evening together.  The weather was perfect and after dinner we went up on the top deck and just sat and talked for the longest time!!

I love going out on dates with my handsome husband!!:)

Visit with Pawpaw and Mamaw

On Monday of our vacation we headed over to Jennings, FL to see Mamaw and Pawpaw (Bert's grandparents).  You would think b/c we were already in FL that it couldn't be that far.  It turns on FL is a fairly big state...Jennings is about 3 hours and 20 minutes from Panama City Beach.  We didn't mind one bit and we were so glad we were able to go and see Pawpaw one last time.  We enjoyed our visit so much!!  Pawpaw had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer about 6 weeks before this visit.  We didn't know how long he had, but we knew his time on this earth was short, so we wanted to be with him every chance we got.  We also were able to go see them about a week after his diagnosis.  Bert was able to have some really encouraging conversations with Pawpaw....we'll always be thankful for that time.

While we were there we gave Hannah green beans for the first time.  She wasn't a huge fan at first, but she warmed up to them.  Pawpaw enjoyed watching her eat them.:)

Mamaw and our happy Hannah!

On August 28th, one week and one day after this visit, Pawpaw went to be with Jesus.  He was such a great man...a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.  He just loved life!!  He set a wonderful example for so many and he will be forever missed.

PCB '12

As usual, we had a GREAT trip to Panama City Beach!!  Stanley, Katherine, Brett and Jacob didn't get to go this year....they were missed, but we had a great time!!  Hopefully we'll all be able to go next year.:)

Group pic:  Emily is going through this phase of putting her hands in her mouth every time I want her to smile for a picture.  It's quite special.  I will pull her hand out and she will throw her head back so that you can't see her face.  Oh well....hopefully it will pass soon, but for now just look past the fist in the mouth pictures....I tried.:)

Getting ready for the beach!!  The girls were excited!

Having fun in the sun!!

She's just too cute for words.  I could kiss her sweet face all day long!!

Bert's mom found this pop up tent for us at a yard sale and knew that it would be perfect for the beach!  The girls thought it was fun to play under it and they were in the shade for a little bit....win win!  When we were ready to leave, packing it up proved to be a little difficult.  It folds up into a very tight ball and it's supposed to fit nicely into this cute little bag....ha!:)  Bert stayed fairly calm, but at one point I was afraid the tent was going to get left out on the beach or thrown into the ocean.:)   All is well....Bert and Papa Stan got it all packed up and we'll be ready to pull it out next time!!

Mimi introduced Emily to Capri Sun's and let's just say she's a fan.  I had been hesitant to give her one before b/c I was afraid she would just squeeze it and make a mess.  She actually does great with it and she's one happy girl while drinking it.:)  Also, notice the sun glasses.  She would literally wear them all day if we would let her.

We went up to Pier Park one night and let Emily ride several rides.  She said she wanted to ride the airplanes, so we let her give it a try.  They actually go really high in the air and Bert and I weren't totally sure what she would think when she got up there....she LOVED it!

The carousel is always a hit and Hannah got to ride for free...she definitely loved all the lights and music!

Lastly we loaded up in the train to take a ride down the streets of Pier Park.  This was probably Emily's favorite activity!!  She thought it was so fun that we were on a TRAIN!  She kept saying "choo-choo!" and waving to all the people who were walking by.  Earlier today she saw this picture and said "Wets (lets) go get on the train, Mama!!"

Papa (my Dad) and Daddy (Bert) were working hard to build Emily a sand castle, but she kept coming over and knocking it down.  Maybe in another year or so she'll be ready to wait on the finished product before knocking it down, but at 2 1/2 it was just too tempting.:)

Bert made Emily a "chair" and this was her favorite thing that they made in the sand that day.  She would play for a little bit and then go back and sit in her chair...too cute!:)

Hannah could only take so much fun.  It was past her nap time.  I sang to her and tried to get her to fall asleep on a towel.  She didn't appreciate my efforts.  Papa Stan to the rescue!  He's always looking for an excuse for one of his grandbabies to take a nap on his chest.  It didn't take long for him to get her to sleep and they enjoyed their nap while the rest of us played out in the ocean for a little while!

I love this picture!!  They were going to catch some fish in their net.:)

Hannah and Emily loved the pool as well as the ocean!  Here Hannah is enjoying some pool time with her Daddy.

I can't look at the picture below without smiling.

Emily loved to be thrown up in the air.  She was fearless!  In the picture below Bert is throwing Emily up in the air and Em has the biggest grin on her face.

E giving H a big hug!

We had such a great week!  A big thank you to my parents for blessing us with such a fun, memorable vacation!!

Sister Time

These pictures were taken a couple of weeks ago, but they were so cute I had to post them.

Emily informed me that she was going to "fix Hannah's hair."  She sat down behind her and started playing with her hair and tickling her.  I didn't even have to tell the girls to smile for the picture....they were both grinning from ear to ear.:)

I'm so thankful that they have each other!
