These Days

Sometimes the girls get to go to their dad's office for an hour or so and they LOVE it!  This day Emily had an orthodontist appointment so I had a friend pick Hannah up from school and then drop her off at the church.

They all four took swimming lessons at the West Side Aquatic Center this year.  Abby and Claire were in the same group for the first half of the session, but then they moved Abby up to the next level.  Claire was in the same level (bottom) all of last year and this year (because she refuses to get her face wet).  Poor nugget.  Claire has fun in the water as long as you don't splash her. Maybe she'll keep warming up as the summer goes on.  Proud of all 4 of them!!

Happy girl!

I did a Bible Study with some ladies and enjoyed it!

Field trip to a Strawberry patch for Hannah Beth!

We've been meeting with our Friday morning Bible study (we meet every other Friday) for about 2 years now.  We went away on a one-night trip to Stacy's lake house in mid May.  It was so good for us to get away.  I'm so thankful for every one of these ladies!

We had a kiddie pool day one day before the big pool was opened!  I love this picture!

Hannah and Emily asked if we could go eat lunch at school with them one last time before the school year was over, so we did!

One day Bert was home with just the little two and he let them have some sprinkler fun!

Bert raked and planted grass in our back yard and it looks soooo good! I thought we should document a before and after:

Emily got to go on a field trip to Columbia.  She has talked about this field trip a million times this year and I think it lived up to her expectations.  They had so much fun!

They took charter buses and had to leave the school at 6:30am.

Emily loved having her Daddy with her!

May was crazy busy as usual, but we're so thankful for all the things/people/activities that make us "busy."

Dance Recital

The girls had another great year of dance!  Emily and Hannah were in the same class this year which was soooo nice for me!

Claire had a great first year and was excited about her first recital!

Claire was in a class with Charlotte, my friend Kristin's daughter.  I loved getting to chat with Kris every week.

Claire's class with their teacher, Ms. Tori

Emily's button popped off her costume literally two minutes before they were walking on stage.  I told her not to worry about it (because I didn't have the thread or the skills to do something about it), but another mom said she had a sewing kit and different mom said she could sew it back on, and the whole thing took about 1 minute.  It was seriously impressive and a little hectic.  Emily's class had already left to get ready to go on stage so as soon as she finished sewing her up I ran to where she was supposed to be and then ran to the audience so I didn't miss their performance.

Emily got her 5-year award and Hannah got her 3-year award.  Both girls are very proud of their trophies and they should be!

Grandmama and Pawpaw drove up for the recital and we loved having them with us!

Mimi and Papa took a break from their moving weekend just to come over and cheer the girls on!

Abby stayed with Stanley and Alisha in Toccoa and we drove back over there as soon as the recital was over to finish up the big move!

We're thankful for our studio!  Recital weekend is always soooo fun for the girls!

Moving Mimi and Papa and May Birthdays

My parents moved from their house over Memorial Day weekend!  We arrived on Friday to help them get moved.  On Friday evening Daddy was watering the grass and he asked if he could spray the kids.  My first response was "let's not," but he talked me into and I'm definitely glad he did.  The kids were belly laughing and running and I don't know when I've seen them have so much fun!

On Saturday we had a birthday lunch for Stanley (30th) and Mom (61st).

Mom took this picture on Saturday (Brett wasn't there that day, but helped all day Monday).  Mom said she wanted to document her moving crew and her grandbabies on the way.  Charlotte came a week and a day after this picture.  And Alisha and baby boy Roberts are doing just great!

Mom thought it was so funny that the cake said "Happy 30th Birthday Stanley and Mimi"....like she was turning 30.  Ha!

The did a pile up on Jacob, which was fun at this point (in picture), but then they started getting up and Abs fell of the back onto the back of her head.  Poor nugget!

Hannah and Jacob love Callie so much!!

We had church and the recital on Sunday and then we headed back to Toccoa and moved allll day Monday (Memorial Day).  Monday evening we had pizza at the lake and let the kids go for a quick swim.  I actually ran to Walmart earlier in the day and bought them a bathing suit since I hadn't brought any.  They had earned a little swim time!

We have soooo many great memories in the Deer Chase house...my parents had lived there 19 years.  I for sure had tears running down my face when we drove away for the last time, but we're sooooooo excited for my parents that it finally sold and we're excited about all the memories we're going to make at the lake house (or wherever they live!).  All that matters is being together!
