These Days

June was a wonderful start to summer!

Their first time in a pool for the season!

Our girls play so well together!

Charlotte Renea Sanders was born on June 2nd and is a precious addition to their family!  We love her so much!

Hannah wrote this card for Penny and I thought it was too sweet!

Our little readers:

We had a great Father's Day and ended up going downtown for a picnic and to walk around Falls Park!  Bert is the best Dad and our girls are so incredibly blessed to have him!

While we were walking around downtown I caught this picture of Claire mid-dance.  She danced around this place for 5 minutes by herself.  I have a sweet video of it too.  She couldn't have cared less who was watching!

June was packed full of pool days!

Bert read to the big three one night while they ate popsicles on the porch. That's summer in a picture right there!

These days are sometimes long but the months and years are flying by!

VBS 2019

Our VBS was a huge hit again this year!  It's a highlight of their summer!

Bert told the kids on the first night that if the girls raised the most offering money that I could put a pie in his face and if the boys raised the most money that he would put a pie in my face.  THANKFULLY, the girls won by a landslide.  I think some adults contributed to make sure I was able to put the pie in his face! :)

We had a great week!  Thankful for our church and all the love, time and energy that is poured into this week each year!

Pebble Creek Half Mile Swim Team

Our girls were on our neighborhood swim team this year and had so much fun!  It basically lasted the month of June and while it did keep us very busy, we felt like the girls made SO much progress!  Emily swam on the main team and Hannah swam on the Guppies team (team for younger kids....similar to swimming lessons with one swim meat at the end of June).

Emily doing the backstroke at a meet!

The siblings had fun at the meets and didn't complain much even when it was hot and they couldn't get in the water. This is Claire with Millie. Her brother Titus was on the team and was in Hannah's first grade class too!

We loved cheering on our girl!

Hannah did a great job in her swim meet!

Their teachers stayed right beside them, but Hannah didn't really need them to...she's made SO much progress this year and I feel comfortable with her swimming on her own in the deep end.

The Guppies group!

It was a fun season of meeting new friends and learning new skills!  Thankful we have a pool and team right down the road from us!

June Lake Trip

We had a fun weekend at the lake in June!

Our neighbor and fellow church member and friend, Sherry Scott, got this pineapple float and a watermelon float for our kids. We took the pineapple to the lake and left the watermelon float here for the pool. Only, the watermelon one is soooo big it won't fit in the van! We might've made the wrong choice on which to bring and which to keep!

Uncle Jimmy took us for a boat ride with some tubing, yellow-boarding, and skiing.

They even talked me into skiing and I got up on the first time!

Bedtime Papa snuggles!

Father's Day was the day after we left so I wanted to get a picture with my Daddy!  I love him so much and I'm so thankful that he's mine!

Lake weekends are my favorite!!!

Southern Baptist Convention – Birmingham

Bert and I went to the Southern Baptist Convention in Birmingham, AL this year with our friends Chase and Jacinta from MCBC. We stayed in  an Airbnb with them and had so much fun!!

We went to Top Golf our first night there and had a great time!

We spent some time with our friends Keri and Patrick and it was SO great to see them.  Patrick and Keri are best friends of ours and it's rare to find a couple where you BOTH get along so well with the other couple!!

And we were excited to hang out some with our friends Ryan and Katie Hearn.

I have so many wonderful memories with these two ladies during our first two years of seminary!

Katie's husband, Ryan, pastors a church in Jacksonville, NC and Patrick is the Executive pastor of North August First Baptist.

Like old times!

Grandmama and PawPaw kept these four cuties for us while we were away and we appreciated it SO much!!  They had such a fun time with them!

Thankful to be able to be a part of the Southern Baptist Convention and I so hope to be able to go back!

Awards and the Last Day of School

Hannah received lots of awards at her awards day.  She received awards for music, handwriting, and art, but the award we were the most proud of was the citizenship award.  One girl and one boy from each class receives this award. We were so proud of Hannah and the way she loved and encouraged her classmates this year!

We have heard what a wonderful teacher Mrs. Hiller is, and now we know it to be true.  We would be so excited if Claire or Abby had Mrs. Hiller....Hannah had such a wonderful 1st grade year!

Emily received the Principals List award for all A's and the Art award!  We were so proud of her and all her hard work this year!

Their last day of 1st and 3rd grade!

They wanted a picture with Ms. Gerrard, our assistant principal, on the last day.  She is wonderful!

Wrapping up the school year and looking forward to a fun summer!!
