These Days

We had Bella over for a playdate one Saturday afternoon and enjoyed having that sweet girl!

We had a big craft fair at the church in early May to raise money for mission and Emily got to paint a tiger paw on a couple of the fireman's face.  It made her day!

Seth's expression made me laugh.  It doesn't look like he was feelin' the picture.:)

We had Gabe over for a play date one day after their preschool so Mary Pat could have a day with just Sawyer (3ish weeks at this point).  These two have fun playing together but they are also not afraid to argue with each other.

I changed out all the girls clothes from winter to summer and they were all so excited to see all their "new" stuff in their drawers.  Claire had changed 3 times on this particular morning and it was only 8:20 in the morning.

We had a skate night with our church's Awana group and the girls had FUN!

I got to keep sweet Evan (1-1/2 y.o.) one morning and Claire and Abby loved playing with him!  Claire especially kept such a close eye on him and was so sweet.

These two love to help me make their sandwiches.

Playing in Mimi's high heels is a favorite activity.  These three are SO loud clanking around on the hardwood floors, but Abby makes a beeline for Mimi's closet ever time she walks in their house.

Papa had Jai's canoe at their house for a couple weeks and he took the kids out for a spin.  Hannah didn't particularly enjoy it though and wanted to get off as soon as she got on.

We got to celebrate Stanley's 29th birthday!

One Sunday morning we were running out the door to church and I told the girls I was coming and to go stand by the front door and wait on me.  When I came around the corner this is how they were standing and it made me laugh.

Mornings are often wild trying to get everyone ready, but when I look at this picture I don't doubt for one minute that I will miss this stage when they get bigger.

They had their end of the year Awana celebration!  They each got a certificate of participation and one for finishing their Awana book and memorizing all their verses.

Bella, Bryce and Emily got an award for finishing all 3 books in the Sparks club.  So proud of them!

We went to dinner one night with the Burr's and Fleming's and had such a great time!

These silly girls have fun together!

Sophie Burr is such a great example for them and we're thankful for her!

A couple in our church got married and these cute girls were so excited to get to go to the wedding!

These days are busy and fun and a little bit crazy (with our house mess), but we are healthy and thankful and looking forward to a very fun summer!!

Dance Recital 2018

Emily and Hannah have had such a fun year in dance and we've seen improvement in both of them!

I thought their costumes were adorable this year.

I love this picture!

They requested one back to back.

Emily had a pretty big class this year.  I think there were 13 of them in all.

Hannah's sweet class!!

I got to see my good friend, Kristin, and her daughter, Charlotte.  Charlotte knew her stuff and was leading her class!!:)  It was so fun to get to see them!

Hannah really knew her ballet routine so well!

Emily's ballet routine was so beautiful.  They danced to "The Prayer" and it actually made me tear up on the night of the performance.

Some action shots....

Hannah was wearing the biggest smile...sweet girl!

The best sisters picture we could get...

We SOOO appreciated our parents making the trip to come watch our girls.  It meant so much to the girls and us to have everyone here.

Little Claire kept seeing girls that were younger than her that were dancing and she asked us why they could dance and she couldn't.  Broke my heart.  E and H both started taking at 4 1/2 years old, so Claire will start in the fall too, but she wants to start tomorrow.

We ended the night by celebrating with ice cream at Yogurt Mountain.  Yumm!

We're proud of their hard work and we love that they have so much fun each week!

House Mess

In the middle of May we realized we had a leak under our house.  Our carpet in our living room was wet one night and once Bert started looking into it he realized we had a bigger problem than just that Abby split her drink (which is what I thought at first).

We live on a slab foundation so, once they located the leak, they had to drill through the concrete to fix it. We had a restoration company come out to clear out everything that was wet.  They ended up having to remove our kitchen floor, one side of our kitchen cabinets, our living room/dining room floor, hall floor, hall bathroom floor, and the flooring in our small closets, as well as the carpet pad in the girls' bedroom closet.  I haven't had a working kitchen in two weeks now (they had to turn off all power to our kitchen except our fridge, so we don't have an oven, stove, microwave or sink) and it is looking like we have a couple weeks longer like this.

We've been waiting on State Farm to get back with us about exactly what they are paying for regarding our cabinets.  We hoping to get those repaired over the next couple weeks so that we can get those back in!!  The restoration company accidentally broke our (NEW) granite as they were taking it off so that they could move our cabinet out of the way, so now we have to order new granite and have it installed before we get our sink back.  After all this kitchen stuff is finished we'll be able to get new flooring installed throughout most of the house.

Here are a few pictures of the craziness.....

We had to have our water totally turned off for a couple days so our insurance company put us up in a hotel for 2 nights.  Emily and Hannah were giddy excited about the whole experience.  They especially loved the continental breakfast before they headed off to school.

Mimi and Papa kept these two cute things for most of that first week after it happened.  It was SO helpful to be able to meet with contractors, insurance people, go to flooring stores, and stay in a hotel without having to worry with the littlest.  We sure did miss them though and were SO ready to have them back by the end of that week!  :)

It's been a process and it appears we still have weeks to go.  I'll be sure post the finished product once we get there.
