Reedy River Run - Youth Mile

The night before the Reedy River Run I started to regret signing Emily and Hannah up when I realized what time we had to wake them up and be at the race.  They had to be there a little before 7am so they could be ready for their 7:20 start time. That's an early wake-up call for a Saturday morning!

The girls got to run with their friends, Samantha and Penny, which was so fun for them!

Emily and Samantha finished the Youth Mile in 12 minutes and 25 seconds!  They were right in the middle of the pack.  They said they walked some but not much and Emily said she couldn't have done it without Samantha.  Samantha was definitely the encourager of the two!  I loved this picture of them that I got right before they crossed the finish line!

Penny and Hannah finished in 12 minutes and 52 seconds!  They crossed the finish line smiling like they'd had a blast!  I also loved this picture of them right before they finished!  Em and Sam said they finished way before Penny and Hannah, but actually they were hot on their heels and their legs are shorter!  Ha!  Go girls!

Abby, Claire and I came a little later so that they could sleep a few extra minutes.  I woke them up and we were walking out of the house within 3 minutes.  We got to the start line about 2 minutes before they started!  We were so glad we made it!

Stephanie, Penny and Sam's mom, took this picture for us.  She had a meeting to go to so she got to see them race and then her girls came home with us.

This was a group picture of the team from Paris Elementary before everyone took off to get ready for their separate races!  We love our school!

These next few pictures were taken by the Greenville News and posted on their gallery of pictures from the Reedy River Event.  The girls loved that they were in the newspaper, even if it was online!

We were SO SO proud of our girls!! They worked hard and had fun and it was totally worth waking up crazy early on a Saturday morning.  We'll definitely do it again!
