New Years Day

We had a great New Years Day in Jackson.  We started the day off by going to church at FBC.  It was a great service and we always enjoy seeing everyone since we're not able to go very often.
During the afternoon we took naps, played outside (another blog post with lots of pictures to come), and Linda started cooking us a wonderful New Years Day meal!

Uncle Michael came over to eat dinner with us and Emily didn't want to let him out of her sight.  She probably said "Michael" or "Uncle Michael" about one hundred times in just an hour.  I don't think Michael minded one bit.

Linda cooked an amazing meal of pork chops, black eyed peas, collard greens, corn, and cornbread.  Bert grew up eating a traditional New Years Day meal on January 1st, and he was so excited about getting a yummy New Years Day meal this year.  Collard greens just happen to be one of his favorite foods.  I actually like them a lot too (although I didn't know this until I tried them after we were married).  One of these days I need to cook some collards for my sweet husband....it's on my list of things to do.:)
We had a great time with the Watts for New Years! And we're looking forward to a GREAT 2012!!!
