Finishing Up Soccer

We finished up the girls' first soccer season in mid October!  They really enjoyed playing and we enjoyed cheering them on.

Thankfully Emily and Hannah's teams practiced at the same time each week so while their sisters (and Daddy) were practicing, Claire, Abby, and I would take laps around the YMCA complex.  One evening I stopped and took a picture of them with the gorgeous view that we got to enjoy while we walked around.

Bert and I were actually on our anniversary trip when the Lions (Hannah's team) had their last game, so the team surprised him with a gift, a card and cake after his last game before we left on our trip.  Bert had so much fun coaching this team and he did a great job!  He's already had requests from parents to coach next year!

They had 7 players on their team.  Addie and Hannah were the only girls and Addie was on vacation with her family when we took this picture.  Aren't they all so cute!?

Sweet group of parents and kids!!

We had a team party the week after we got back from our trip.  Bert passed out trophies and we had cupcakes and juice.  Go Lions!!

Claire and Gabe enjoyed playing together during the practices and games.  These two 3-year-olds are big buddies!

Emily usually had her games on Saturdays, but her last game got postponed to the next Tuesday because it fell over fall break.  Emily worked hard and had a lot of fun playing!  She especially loved playing goalie and usually played in that position one quarter out of each game.

The kids got to pick their team name and they decided they would be called the Red Cherry Dragons!

I loved cheering on the girls, but I also loved getting to catch up with my friends during practices and games.  It was so fun to see the Dodges, Flemings, and Rothell's several times a week.  We're thankful for the friends God has blessed us with here in Greenville!
