Emily's birthday fell on a Monday this year and it was a pretty busy day! Hannah had her school play that night. We had a quick birthday dinner after Bert got home from work and before we had to get Hannah to the school. Emily requested a breakfast casserole and apples. Done!
Sweet Mrs. Sonja made her a chocolate chip pound cake and it was soooooo good!
Birthday girl!
Then we were off to the play!
Hannah was the Little Old Lady that Lived in the Shoe!
The whole 1st grade was in this play and only 3 or 4 from each class had a speaking part! We were really proud of Hannah for getting picked and she did such a great job with her lines. The lines were cute and she delivered them like a pro!
Mimi and Papa drove back over on Monday night and met us at the school, even though they had been at our house all weekend. They told Hannah they wouldn't have missed her play!
We went back to our house after the play to let Emily open her presents from us.
She got a new basketball goal that was a big hit! This was her when she got to the bottom of the steps to see her surprise!
It may have been a busy evening, but we made sure that Emily felt special and loved on her birthday and Hannah felt special and loved as we cheered her on in her play!
